1. 101 The Rose WROZ Cash Call is an on-air listening contest operated by 101 The Rose WROZ and Hall Communications, Inc. The contesting begins on Monday, March 31, 2008 and ends on Friday, April 25, 2008.
2. 101 The Rose WROZ will set a cash jackpot amount and announce that amount on the air weekday mornings at 7:20 am with The Rose Breakfast Club. Listen weekdays at the top of each hour from 8 am until (and including) 6 pm for the updated jackpot amount.
3. Every weekday, 101 The Rose WROZ will call telephone numbers that are selected from numbers submitted by listeners to a special database section of
www.roseradio.com. Selection of database numbers to be called by 101 The Rose WROZ on-air personalities will be at the sole discretion of 101 The Rose WROZ and Hall Communications, Inc.
4. The individual answering the telephone call placed by 101 the Rose must answer the phone by saying “101 the Rose Cash Call. The jackpot amount is (give correct jackpot amount).” If the individual guesses the correct jackpot amount, said individual will win that jackpot amount in cash.
5. Contestants may also include the Cash Call jackpot amount on their voicemail greeting. An example would be: "If this is 101 The Rose calling, the exact amount in the Rose Cash Call jackpot is (amount)! And if this is someone else calling, are you listening for YOUR Rose Cash Call?". If the individual receiving a Rose Cash Call does not answer the telephone but has a voicemail greeting that includes the current jackpot amount, that jackpot amount will be awarded to said individual.
6. If the individual does not know the correct amount of the Cash Call jackpot or if the telephone call placed by 101 The Rose WROZ is not answered (and doesn’t go to a voicemail recording containing the jackpot amount on the voicemail), 101 The Rose WROZ will increase the amount of the jackpot by an amount determined by 101 The Rose WROZ. The amount of such increase will be announced by 101 The Rose WROZ on the air.
7. In the event that a winner is obtained by an answering system, the 101 The Rose WROZ air personality placing the call will leave a message on that answering system advising the owner that the or she correctly stated the Cash Call jackpot and giving instructions to contact 101 The Rose WROZ’s general office. Amounts won in this manner must be claimed within 30 days or the prize will be forfeited.
8. When a telephone call placed by 101 The Rose WROZ is answered, the 101 The Rose WROZ air personality placing the call will advise the individual answering the call that 101 The Rose WROZ is placing the call and that the call is being recorded for playback on the air. The individual answering the call may elect not to have his or her voice recorded and the call will be terminated at that point. If the individual accepts the call and elects to continue the call after being advised that the call is being recorded for playback on the air, that individual agrees to the use of his/her voice in on-air broadcasts by 101 The Rose WROZ.
9. 101 The Rose WROZ will award cash prizes won in this contest within 30 days of the date the prize is won.
10. No purchase is necessary. Contestants must be 18 years of age or older to enter this contest. Winner must provide a valid social security number. Amounts paid under this contest will be reported to the IRS on Form 1099.
11. A single individual may register only one telephone number (e.g. cell phone, work phone, etc.) in the 101 The Rose WROZ Cash Call database. Duplicate entries of the same telephone number will be rejected. See also rule 18 below.
12. Employees of 101 The Rose WROZ, Hall Communications, Inc., its affiliated companies, participating sponsors and their advertising companies and promotional partners, together with the immediate family members of those so employed, are not eligible to participate and/or win.
13. Winners in connection with this contest, by accepting the winning prize, agree to the use by 101 The Rose WROZ and Hall Communications of their names, voices and/or likenesses without additional compensation by 101 The Rose WROZ, Hall Communications, Inc. or by any of its promotional partners and sponsors.
14. Winner will be advised to claim his/her prizes in person at 101 The Rose WROZ studio located at 1996 Auction Road, Manheim, PA 17545 if the amount of winning is $600 or higher. Winner must sign an acceptance/release form prior to receiving a prize. Winner must provide a government-issued photo I.D. and will be required to provide his/her Social Security number.
15. Winner is solely responsible for the payment of any taxes arising from the acceptance of a cash prize.
16. Winners release WLPA/WROZ/WSJW, Hall Communications, Inc., and any agent connected with this contest from any liability or loss that may be incurred as a result of this prize.
17. WROZ is not responsible for late, lost, misaddressed or misdirected mail or delayed, misdirected, uncompleted or unsuccessful phone calls or busy signals.
18. Failure to follow contest rules will result in the disqualification of the contestant. Attempts to rig the contest by any means including, but not limited to, submitting the same telephone number to the 101 The Rose WROZ database multiple times may disqualify individuals from participating in or winning prizes in connection with this contest. Attempts to win prizes in connection with this contest by any fraudulent or deceptive means will be treated as fraud and may subject the perpetrator of such fraud to prosecution under applicable state or federal statute.
19. One winner per household. Individuals who win a prize in connection with this contest are ineligible to win this contest again but may participate in contests sponsored by 101 The Rose WROZ other than the 101 The Rose WROZ Cash Call.
20. 101 The Rose WROZ is the sole judge with respect to questions arising in connection with this contest. Such judgments will be final.
21. WROZ and Hall Communications, Inc. reserve the right to modify these rules, change the prize or discontinue the contest without notice.
22. A printed copy of these rules may be obtained by sending a self-addressed postage-paid envelope to 101 The Rose WROZ, PO Box 4368, Lancaster, PA 17604.
